BEACH 2010
We had wonderful trip to the beach last week. Reid loved the sand, water and the pool. He especially loves going down the water slide. We stayed at a terrific place that caters to kids under five and Reid managed to wear himself out each afternoon and slept great at night. Ken and I were exhausted. Gone are the days when you went to the beach, slept, read books. .now we chase after a super-active toddler.
Reid has also learned to dance in the water (we love that) and scream in restaurants when we sit down to eat (not so much loving that). The night before we left for the beach, Reid was running in the house and fell and bumped his head. He needed 2-3 stitches, so off to Brenner Children's Hospital we went. Luckily, we were able to Dermabond the cut and off to the beach we went. We had to make sure the wound had a waterproof bandage on it, but overall I doubt Reid missed out on much.

We took another turn on the carousel and Reid was still not impressed. He likes to watch it go around but does not like to ride it per se. The trip was a complete success and full of fun things to do and share. I was glad to spend the time with my boys.

Reid loves dogs
Our little man continues to grow up before our eyes. This morning he said "Hey Emma" to our sweet puppy. I am amazed at the words and the small phrases that come out of his mouth these days. Currently, he can say mama, daddy, more, thank you, please, ball, Emma, mine, me, bye, no, woof woof (for dog and he growls for a lion), bubbles. The list goes on an on. When you ask him a question, any question, like are you ready to take a bath he says, "no." I am so proud of my little man. In the evenings, I take Reid outside and he loves to walk the dog, play bubbles with Connor and play with the Tregonings's pug Bruno. Reid loves animals and I am so glad.

Reid is also learning to run and gives Ken and me a run for our money. He's so fast. We are taking swim lessons and he loves the water. A fun summer lies ahead.

Daylight Savings Time!
Ok, so I had to give up an hour of sleep but it's so worth it, if it brings warmer temps and the promise/first hint of Spring. Ken, Reid and I had a great time outdoors today. It's chilly but sunny and no snow in the forecast. Yippee! St. Patricks Day this week -- we will be wearing green. Dad and Reid watched ACC basketball all weekend. When I was pregnant, I swore Reid would have curly, red hair and play basketball. We have curly, red hair. I hope I'm 2 for 2. Reid has starting saying mine and me. Boy, are we in for it. :)

Welcome Spring!
Ok so I am a little early, but I am ready. After one of the snowiest seasons on record, I am ready for some sun, some warmth, some fun! :) Reid is now toddling around, talking about everything and give us an opinion on just about any topic (not that we understand much of what he says.) So glad God has blessed us with such a sweet little man!

Reid is now 15 months old and I want to write down some things so that I can remember them. He is walking 50% of the time now and says a few words like mama, dada, bye, bye. He also shakes his head no when he doesn't want something and yells at us when he wants our attention. Too funny. He loves to read. His favorite book at the moment is the Wheels on the Bus. He also loves to drag cars around our living room/den. Reid has 7 teeth and another peeking through the gums -- all in the front. He eats table food at every meal -- no more baby food! He drinks from a sippy cup and feed himself with a spoon. Messy but hey, it works! He wears mostly 24 months or 2T clothing and a size 4 diaper. We can see his personality more each day. I don't think I could love another child more than this one. He is such a special, happy child. God has richly blessed us.

Happy New Year 2010

My resolutions for the new year are sparse. I originally planned to not make any, but then decided that I am selling myself short if I don't make at least one. . .Coasting by isn't really my style. So, I've decided to make discipline my goal. I hope I don't regret this one. I want to feel like I am moving forward. . .So I resolve to be more focused on learning a few new things and putting some energy into those skills. Hopefully 2010 will bring wonderful things. Like snow.

OK so I am a sucker for new technology so go and try this new thing called McLinky. . .A new tool to use on blogs and whatnot. :)

In MckMama's own words: "There’s a great new “linky” service available and I wanted to let you know about it. It’s called MckLinky – www.mcklinky.com. After realizing the need for a new, reliable linky capability, Brent Riggs and MckMama got together to create a free, easy to use linky service for all their blog friends.
MckLinky is a free link list feature that allows you to do include lists of other blog links like MckMama does on Not Me! Monday. You can use MckLinky any time you want your blog readers to leave a list of links on your blog. It’s simple, reliable, free...and loads of MckFun!"
